Job Description:
Teaches undergraduate courses in the fields of General Ecology,
and Comparative Chordate Anatomy. Participates in General Biology for Biology majors and upper-level elective
courses in the fields of Ecology, Wildlife Biology, and Environmental Sciences. Performs academic advising and develops
a program of independent research with a substantial field-based component. Mentors original
undergraduate research. Supports the curation of the Department's Animal Natural History collection. Requirements: PhD degree in Wildlife Ecology, Wildlife Biology
or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus 2 years of experience teaching undergraduate
university courses in Biological Sciences (including a focus on the fields of Ecology and Environmental Sciences) and
conducting independent or collaborative original research in the field of Wildlife Biology. Experience to include
at least one year mentoring undergraduates in Ecology research. Also requires 2 years of experience in each of the
following skills: (1) Leveraging applications for GIS/remote-sensing and multivariate and experimental statistics
for research in Wildlife Ecology and Conservation Biology; (2) Performing biodiversity monitoring and leveraging
standard wildlife survey techniques and protocols, including assessment of habitat conditions and international
conservation assessments, and international research on Wildlife Ecology and Conservation; (3) Teaching undergraduate
coursework with any one of the following components: scientific writing and communication (including
training students in presenting at standard conferences); course-embedded research; dynamic classroom activities; use of
technology; revising and editing laboratory manuals and writing new teaching laboratories; and designing new courses
in the field of wildlife biology; and, (4) Developing Wildlife Ecology-related partnerships and collaborating with
