About the Opportunity The College of Social Sciences and
Humanities and its ten tenure units are the home of the
Experiential Liberal Arts. Through its research, teaching, and

Humanities will be dynamic and innovative scholars with a record of
research and teaching excellence. Strong candidates for this
position will have the expertise, knowledge, and skills to build
their research, pedagogy, and curriculum in ways that reflect and
enhance this commitment. The Department of World Languages and
Cultures seeks to fill a non-tenure-track job opening for an
Assistant Teaching Professor, Associate Teaching Professor, or Full
Teaching Professor of Spanish. This is an academic year teaching
faculty position with opportunities for promotion through an
established track from Assistant Teaching Professor to Associate
Teaching Professor to Full Teaching Professor. Reappointment
letters are issued prior to July 1 of the applicable year. This is
a full time, benefits-eligible position with an expected start date
of August 17, 2026. The position will be on Northeastern’s Boston
campus. This position will support the University's commitment to
innovation in teaching as well as the Department of World Languages
and Cultures' vision of developing students' intercultural
communicative competence. Responsibilities : Duties include a
teaching load of six courses for the academic year (three courses
each semester), including Spanish language and culture courses, and
ongoing curricular and pedagogical innovation. Professional
development and service are also expected. Qualifications : Ph.D.
in Spanish applied linguistics, pedagogy, literature, cultural
studies, or a related field in hand by the employment start date.
Ability to teach Spanish language and culture courses at all levels
of the curriculum. Ability to teach Spanish for Heritage Speakers,
Spanish for Healthcare, Latin American Film, or Portuguese (or
another language). Experience teaching Spanish in in-person and
online (asynchronous) formats. Native or near-native proficiency in

Pay Range: Assistant Teaching Professor: $69,000.00 - $78,000.00 |
Associate Teaching Professor: $78,000.00 - $89,000.00 | Teaching
Professor: $80,000.00 - $96,000.00 With the pay range(s) shown
above, the starting salary will depend on several factors, which
may include your education, experience, location, knowledge and
expertise, and skills as well as a pay comparison to
similarly-situated employees already in the role. Salary ranges are
