Radiologic Technologist. The Greater Manchester Region has
approximately 2,500 employees. It includes Manchester Memorial
Hospital, a 249-bed community hospital, Rockville General, a campus
of Manchester Memorial Hospital, a 102-bed facility, a large
multispecialty provider group and visiting nurse services. The
Greater Manchester Region serves a region of 300,000 people in 19
towns. POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direction of a Workflow
Coordinator, Manager/Supervisor and or Team Leader, performs or
assists in radiographic procedures at a level that does not require
direct supervision over technical detail. Performs and assists in a
variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment,
good knowledge of anatomy, positioning and a thorough technical
knowledge of equipment. Assumes responsibility for a designated
area or procedure as may be required. COMPETENCIES: • Must have the
ability to speak, read and write using the English language. •
Bilingual capabilities in Spanish are desirable, but not required.
• The incumbent needs advanced math skills in physics in order to
understand and set the level of radiologic exposure to the patient
and themselves for the process. ESSENTIAL DUTIES and

to time. 1. Performs all routine radiographic procedures according
to department standards, protocols and guidelines required by the
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and the State of
Connecticut. 2. Exhibits proficiency in conducting routine
radiographic procedures and fluoroscopic exams including
gastro-intestinal studies, ERCP’s, Atrthrography,
Hysterosalpingography, Urography and portable X Ray equipment
including C Arm procedures. 3. Provides proper clinical patient
care while performing diagnostic procedures. 4. Provides careful
critique and assessment over the image quality. 5. Exhibits
accuracy in computer documentation. 6. Mentors students in the
clinical and ethical aspects of the Radiologic Technologist
profession. 7. Maintains stock levels and personal protection
equipment of assigned stations. 8. Exhibits constant awareness of
infection control standards. 9. Works cooperatively to accomplish a
task as a member of the team. 10. Performs miscellaneous duties as
may be required. Qualifications EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: • High
School diploma or GED equivalent. • Must pass the American Registry
of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) National Board, and have a State
of Connecticut License to practice Radiographic technical
procedures or receive within 3 months of graduation. • On an
on-going basis the incumbent must obtain the mandatory number of
continued educational units (CEU’s) needed to maintain the currency
of state licensure. • Must have certification in Basic Cardiac Life
Support upon hire and maintain clinical competency during
employment with ECHN in this role. EXPERIENCE: • Must be fully
knowledgeable and capable of performing independently in at least
two modalities. • Must have a complete working knowledge in the
principals of physics, anatomy, medical terminology, sterile
technique and radiation protection as it relates to Radiology
practice. • Radiologic Technologists must meet the ECHN age
specific knowledge/skill requirement, annually complete ECHN’s
