Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 06/08/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, rotating - Employment Type: Travel Opportunity: RN - PCU Stepdown Job Details: • Work day/night rotation schedule with 36 hours per week guaranteed • Patient ratios: Days 1:3, Nights 1:4-5 depending on acuity • Minimum 1.5 years of recent equivalent experience required • Care for 48 beds of step-down level patients including cardiology, EP, and cardiac surgical patients • Manage cardio thoracic surgical patients, pre and post CHF, telemetry, vascular, pulmonary HTN, and temporary pacers • Handle chest tubes, various tubes and drips including Diltiazem, heparin, Lasix, insulin, and amiodarone • Manage lines/tubes/drains for post-surgical patients, trachs/laryngectomies, and complex wounds • Perform central line care, maintenance, and blood draws • Conduct hemodynamic monitoring and invasive BP monitoring through arterial lines • Administer nitro, primacor, dobutamine, dopamine drips • Operate Bi-PAP/C-PAP equipment • Handle low dose pressors, vasoactive meds, and inotropes • Manage external pacers, epicardial wires, and TR bands • Required certifications: NH RN License or Compact License (proof of state residency required), BLS, ACLS Facility: This medical center operates a specialized cardiac progressive care unit with 48 beds dedicated to step-down level care.
