Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Med Surg - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 04/27/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview - Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs - Hours: 36 hrs/wk - Start Date: Apr 27, 2026 - Length: 13 weeks - Openings: 1 Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a fast-paced adult Med/Surg unit specializing in trauma and acute care surgical patients, requiring Level I or comparable Level II Trauma center experience. Details - 36-bed adult surgical unit in a hospital setting - Patient population includes trauma cases (spinal cord injuries, TBIs, orthopedic trauma) and acute care surgical patients (hernia repair, small bowel obstructions, appendectomy, cholecystectomy) - Unit includes 2 negative pressure rooms serving COVID patients - RN-to-patient ratio: 1:4 on days, 1:5 on nights - LNA-to-patient ratio: 1:12 - Required procedures and skills include chest tubes, IV drips (Diltiazem, Heparin, Lasix, Insulin, Amiodarone), trachs/laryngectomies, telemetry monitoring, complex wound care, and central line care, maintenance, and blood draws Requirements - Active NH RN license or Compact RN license required; Compact license holders must provide proof of state residency - Current BLS certification required - Minimum of 1.5 years of recent Med/Surg nursing experience required - Recent Level I Trauma center experience required, or comparable Level II Trauma center experience within the last 2 years - Experience with post-surgical lines, tubes, and drains required - 2 professional references from managers required for consideration Additional Information - Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates will not be considered - Focus of care is on rehabilitating and supporting trauma and post-surgical patients through recovery American Traveler Job ID P-688571.
