Wellan Montessori School is currently seeking a part-time
Toddler/Preschool Music Teacher beginning in late August
part-time Toddler/Preschool Music Teacher is responsible for
teaching students ranging in age from 15 months to 6 years (toddler
through Kindergarten), and for building the foundation of their
love of music. They should be prepared and willing to assist the
Music Program Coordinator with organization of all-school and/or
classroom-based performances that showcase student learning. They
will occasionally be asked to support the Music Program by teaching
general music to students Kindergarten through 3rd grade.
Candidates should have experience
in some of the following: Orff-Schulwerk, Conversational Solfege,
First Steps in Music, and/or Kodaly. They should also have
classroom experience teaching age-appropriate general music classes
for multi-age classes.
The ideal candidate will be well organized and flexible; have
strong classroom management skills; have strong verbal and written
communication skills; and be able to collaborate with other
educators in our community to create an environment where children
learn, socialize, explore, and grow together as global citizens.
Proficiency in playing either the guitar or piano is
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, with a
major in music/music education preferred.
Desire to work with students age 15 months to age 6 and support
classes of Kindergarten through 3rd graders if needed.
Ability to design and implement age-appropriate
Independent school experience preferred.
Patience and a sense of humor.
