Wellan Montessori School is seeking an innovative educator to
join our team as an Elementary Technology Teacher and After School
Teacher for the 2021-2022 school year. This is a full time position
beginning in late August 2021. The Elementary Technology Teacher is
responsible for teaching computer skills, information technology,
and digital citizenship to students in grades 1 - 8. The Elementary
Technology Teacher will plan and implement curriculum and
activities, and will work with classroom teachers to assist in the
integration of Technology Literacy Standards into classroom
curricula. The Elementary Technology Teacher must excel at
preparing the relevant curriculum and taking shared responsibility
for creating and maintaining an orderly, safe, and developmentally
appropriate learning environment for children.
In addition to teaching classes during the school day, the
Elementary Technology Teacher will be a generalist in the Wellan
After School Program with the opportunity to teach STEM classes and
facilitate tech based activities. This teacher will also serve as a
member of Wellan's Technology Support Team, providing tech support
services throughout the school as needed.
The successful candidate will be well organized and flexible;
have strong classroom management and problem solving skills; have
strong verbal and written communication skills; and be able to
collaborate well with other educators in our community. This person
will have a passion for consuming, sharing, and creating content in
all different forms - books, podcasts, articles, etc. - and must be
able to model this excitement for both students and faculty.
- Full Time 40 hours per week, with attendance at staff meetings
and occasional night and weekend events outside of regular hours
- Regular Hours: Monday - Friday, 10:00am - 6:00pm.
- Bachelor's degree or beyond in related field.
- Experience teaching or student teaching children ages 6 - 14
(grades 1 - 8).
- Experience working in a Montessori environment preferred.
- Minimum of 3 professional references required.
