Currently looking for an experienced Staff Accountant to fill an opening with a company located in Fall River, MA. Interested candidates should have a minimum of 2 years of accounting experience and should be familiar with accounting software packages and MS Office suite, especially Excel.



Responsibilities of the Staff Accountant

Reconciliation of petty cash and bank accounts.
Prepare invoices for state contracts, rent agreements and other A/R as needed.
Prepare journal entries and data entry into accounting software.
Resolve accounting discrepancies and investigate irregularities.
Perform annual audit of asset list prior to the annual fiscal audit.
Manage schedules for prepaid expenses.
Tracking and reconciliation of incentive accounts.
Prepare productivity and financial dashboard reports on a monthly basis with year-end summary.
Assist with the preparation of monthly financial statement package for department heads.
Participates with in-services both internal and external, as well as department meetings.
Assist in the preparation of annual budgets.
Assist in financial and HRSA audits.
Assist in the preparation of schedules and reports for the monthly board meetings.
Confirm all submitted reports are accurate and timely.
Backup to fiscal support clerk position for periods of vacation/leave and to payroll processing.
Collect and maintain backup and information need for reporting requirement.
Perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs.



Requirements of the Staff Accountant

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required
2 to 3 years of experience in Accounting
Experience working with accounting software packages Microsoft Office and strong Excel skills required
Experience with month end closing, budgeting, bank reconciliation and fixed assets preferred
Demonstrated good judgment in the execution of tasks and responsibilities
Ability to take verbal directions and apply expectations to work performed
Excellent listening and comprehension skills

Pay Rate is $27- 33 per hour
